| Welcome You've finally made it to the Advanced Skill Information topic, and I really do hope you've got a good grasp on the entiriety of the system thus far, because it only gets more complicated from here on out. So, allow me to introduce you to the Advanced Skill Information topic! If you've done as you should and read the topic located here then you'd know what the Universal Skills are and that each race has differing skills known as, "Racial Skills". Here, however, we have the Universal Skills, which are skills that are used by each and every character on Legend of the Damned, regardless of what or who they play. Here we have for you a list of the three Universal Skills and what, at each skill level, they do for you, the character who possesses their might! Zanjutsu Known also as your Weaponry Skill, though for Shinigami and Arrancar, it'll most likely be Zanjutsu since they fight with swords. For humans and Quincy, you can change the name as you see fit, though the mechanics of the skill levels will remain the same. This skill dictates how well you are with your most basic of weapons; for Shinigami and Arrancar, this would be the sealed state. For Humans and Quincy, this would be whatever the Human power manifests as, and the skill level with the Quincy Bow or other chosen manifestation, including the Seele Schneider, though that will have additional mechanics to be applied. Anyway, without further adieu, here you have the Zanjutsu Skill! - Zanjutsu:
None: You cannot wield your weapon well at all. Wait a moment, "well"...? You can't really do anything with it at all! It shakes in your hand and it'd more than likely slip from your grasp if you decided to fight with it! Passive Effect: -5 Strength and Attack Speed Tiers when fighting with your weapon. Additionally, there's a chance you must, as the writer, play out that you'll drop your weapon since you know absolutely nothing about sword fighting. It's a high chance, but if it happens will be left up to you, the writer.
Beginner: You've only just began your journey in swordsmanship. Your skills are more than futile would ever do justice, though you know how to hold your weapon. You're most likely the laughing stock, though. You should be ashamed; you'd better be working on your skills, because you're easy pickings. Passive Effect: -1 Strength and Attack Speed Attribute Tiers when fighting with your weapon. You're less likely to drop your weapon in combat, though it still is a, however distinct, possibility. The actuality of it happening, however, is left up to the writer in question.
Basic: You're on your way to becoming less of an embarrassment. You're capable, though, of allowing your full potential to shine through when you fight without any inherit negative penalties. And you know just as well as I do, that is certainly a plus! Passive Effect: You can now fight at your default Strength and Attack Speed tiers with zero penalties.
Intermediate: You've earned the right to call yourself, "not quite incompetent", and trust me, that is far better than those below you! When it comes to facing an opponent weapon against weapon, you're less likely to lose in a match of skill, thankfully. You receive no bonus for this skill level
Advanced: You're actually making a name for yourself in the art of Swordsmanship! You're doing well and on your way to matsering the dangerous art you hold so dearly. If only you can continue your training and refine your skills! Additionally, you've learned to specialize yourself enough to give yourself a neat hand in battle against your opponents, though you'd do well to keep in mind that just like you, they of equal or higher standing can do likewise, to perhaps greater extents. Passive Bonus: You may choose between one of the following: a single tier bonus to your Attack Strength or Attack Speed when fighting with your weapon.
Seasoned: You're becoming ferocious and artfully skilled in your weaponry art. Your distinct way of fighting is likely beginning to make itself obvious to the world, and perhaps in time, you'll be known for how you fight. You receive no bonus for this skill level
Veteran: You've reached the point where you're considered better than most would ever dream of becoming. You realize, though, there's still areas you can improve. Is it possible for you, though? Can do actually do it? Can your body and mind physically allow you to inch any closer to perfection? You'll have to wait and see. You receive no bonus for this skill level
Expert: Behold! You've done it! You've passed the benchmark where none typically pass. You're fearsome, you devil, you, though alas, you are not the best. Your skill rivals the even Advanced Captains of the Gotei and some of the highest ranking Espada, though still, some out there surpass you. With a little luck, you can reach their level, too? Passive Bonus: You may choose between one of the following: a single tier bonus to your Attack Strength or Attack Speed when fighting with your weapon. This stacks with the bonus obtained from the Advanced Skill Level.
Master: You've made it. You truly have. Your skill is renowned enough to have earned you the title of, "Master". This is not common and this is not menial. You're something from another world, it seems. You, now, have the right to teach others. You demand respect just for others being in your presence! How dare they look on you with such eyes? Perhaps you can poke them out with your sword? You'd likely be fast enough to do it before they even saw it coming... You receive no bonus for this skill level
Grandmaster: Give up -- you've surpassed the limits of the universe itself. Okay, maybe not. But you're better than anyone could ever hope for in their life -- this is something so rare, it is usually not seen in many, many lifetimes. You'd be lucky to meet one with skill such as this. They trump and and all below them without even doing a thing. Passive Bonus: You may choose between one of the following: a single tier bonus to your Attack Strength or Attack Speed when fighting with your weapon. This stacks with the bonus obtained from the Advanced and Expert Skill Levels.
Hakuda Hakuda is the skill which allows you to use your body as a weapon. Whether it be your head, your hands, your arms or maybe even your shoulder, Hakuda is the skill that would dictate your effectivity when fighting with any unarmed part of your body. This skill is quite important to melee characters, or perhaps even the Captain of the Second Division. - Hakuda:
None: You cannot use your body as a weapon. At all. If you even try, there will be consequences. Passive Effect: -5 Strength and Attack Speed Tiers when fighting with your weapon. Additionally, there's a chance you must, as the writer, play out that you'll break your bones on a successful attack, since you know nothing about Hakuda. It's a high chance, but if it happens will be left up to you, the writer.
Beginner: You've only just began your journey in Hakuda. Your skills are more than futile would ever do justice, though you know how to hold your stance. You're most likely the laughing stock, though. You should be ashamed; you'd better be working on your skills, because you're easy pickings. Passive Effect: -1 Strength and Attack Speed Attribute Tiers when fighting using Hakuda.
When it comes to facing an opponent with Hakuda, you're less likely to lose in a match of skill, thankfully. Passive Effect: You may choose one area of your body to have, "hardened". This hardened area is treated as a single Defense Tier higher than normal. This area may be no larger than a single hand.
Advanced: You're actually making a name for yourself in the art of Hakuda! Passive Bonus: While fighting using Hakuda, you find it easier to dodge incoming attacks. Therefore, while fighting unarmed, you can have a single Tier of Speed added to your dodge.
Seasoned: You're becoming ferocious and artfully skilled in your Hakuda art. Your distinct way of fighting is likely beginning to make itself obvious to the world, and perhaps in time, you'll be known for how you fight. Passive Effect: You may choose one additional area of your body to have, "hardened". This hardened area is treated as a single Defense Tier higher than normal. This area may be no larger than a single hand. If you'd like, you can have your initial area be extra hardened, giving it two defense tiers.
Veteran: You've reached the point where you're considered better than most would ever dream of becoming. You realize, though, there's still areas you can improve. Is it possible for you, though? Can do actually do it? Can your body and mind physically allow you to inch any closer to perfection? You'll have to wait and see. Passive Effect: You may choose one area of your body to have, "hardened". This hardened area is treated as a single Defense Tier higher than normal. This area may be no larger than a single hand. This area cannot go ontop of a Hardened Area that is, "double hardened". You must choose a new area to harden.
Master: You've made it. You truly have. Your skill is renowned enough to have earned you the title of, "Master". This is not common and this is not menial. You're something from another world, it seems. You, now, have the right to teach others. You demand respect just for others being in your presence! How dare they look on you with such eyes? Perhaps you can poke them out with your fingers? You'd likely be fast enough to do it before they even saw it coming... Passive Bonus: While fighting using Hakuda, you find it easier to dodge incoming attacks. Therefore, while fighting unarmed, you can have a single Tier of Speed added to your dodge, on top of the Speed Tier you gain from Advanced.
Passive Effect: You may choose one additional area of your body to have, "hardened". This hardened area is treated as a single Defense Tier higher than normal. This area may be no larger than a single hand. If you'd like, you can have your initial area be extra hardened, giving it two defense tiers. This may not add onto a Hardened Area that has already been hardened twice.
Note: Your hardened area only guard against physical and spiritual attacks. This means if one were to strike you with their sword, you'd take less damage. If someone were to fire a Hado or a Cero at you, you'd take less damage. If, however, a power aimed to affect you from the inside out, your hardened areas would not defend against those. Such as illusions and poisons.
Hoho Known to most as the skill of, "Foot Work", or simply as, "the Stepping Movement". This skill governs all of the races High Speed Movement techniques, be it the Shinigami's Shunpo, the Arrancar's Sonído, the Quincy's Hirenkyaku or the Human's Bringer's Light. This skill dictates how fast one can use their High Speed Movement, how many times they can use it before having to wait, and how far they can move in a single step. Additionally, the three techniques known as, "Senka, Utsusemi and Gremelos Sonido" will be unlocked at various different levels. - Hoho:
None: You cannot use any form of High Speed Movement. You may not even make an attempt, because it is impossible for you to understand the mechanics of what it takes to perform a Hoho. Can not use a High Speed Movement.
Beginner: You've only just began your journey in Hoho. Your skills are more than futile would ever do justice, though you know howto perform a step. You're most likely the laughing stock, though.
