| Welcome Thank you for coming to read this topic, as it will serve as the backbone of all fights that will be held here on Bleach: Legend of the Damned. Before I go any further at all, allow me to stress one thing: the information you're about to read are the guideline for how combat works on Bleach: Legend of the Damned. This is in no way, shape or form meant to be hard rules. Circumstances arise within the Role Play factor that allow certain aspects of any system to be negated, though I won't take the time to detail those instances, it would take too long and it is already quite easy to find those instances for yourself as you play. To begin, you're probably wondering what Tiers are. Well, to be frank, Tiers are a way of tracking the potential of your character with greater accuracy and fairness than not having a system at all, though not as limiting and restricting and specific as a Statistical System. Tiers on Legend of the Damned exist to show the attributal prowess and skillful knowledge of your characters in shallow depth. That is to say, as I said before, it's more detailed and uniform than a single player (such as the character's creator) giving out the information, more detailed than not having a system at all, though not as limiting and restricting as a Stat System. Perhaps you're wondering, as well, why in the world we would need a system like this in the first place? Well, sadly, there are times when things in Combat just aren't clear enough. Sometimes, even, players try and God Mod their characters, making them do things they shouldn't be allowed to do. You, as the responder, are left wondering how you should react to that, since your opponent is far out of the rules of fairness. Sadly, this is commonplace amongst RolePlaying forums, and most have adapted some sort of system to dictate the power of characters. Here on Legend of the Damned, we have done the very same and I am very proud to introduce you to our Tier System! Excuse me for my straightforward-ness, but I'm jumping into the description. If you find yourself confused at all by what is about to become, you are more than free to ask questions on the Chatbox or post in the Help Desk. We'll do our best to help you and make sure you understand. And so, without further adieu: some more information! Tier Levels There exists ten Tier Levels which define your Attribute Tiers and your Skill Tiers. Upon approval, you will be given a skill level for your Attribute Tiers and your Skill Tiers in which all of their levels will be set to one specifically. To specialize and make your character unique, you can remove a skill level to increase a skill level, though you must do just that. The skill levels are as follows. - Skill Levels:
None: You possess absolutely no skill in this area.
Beginner: You have just began to learn about whatever art this skill level is placed into. If placed in an attribute tier, then man oh man, you have a lot of work to do.
Basic: You're getting along. You're not tough, no, you're actually far from it, but you know what you're doing. Like I said, you're getting there. This would probably be Renji's skill in Kido.
Below Average: Your skills are not quite what one would call, "the average". You've began your studying and you're doing well, though you have a bit of work to do before you'll be as good as you know you want.
Average: You're at the level that one might refer to as the, "average". This is where the bulk of the player base should be.
Above Average: You're better than a good portion of your peers, though you're certainly not the best there is to be. You're not the worst there is to be; you're doing well, really. Very well. Keep up the good work.
Intermediate: You're tough, yeah. I said it. Tough. You have your head on your shoulders and you're not helpless at all. You're about as skilled as Rukia is in Zanjutsu.
Advanced: Well, look at that. This is quite a large jump, though there's nothing wrong with that. You're getting powerful and you can start to strut your stuff. You can handle a lot of what is thrown at you, but there's a lot you have to do to be truly great.
Seasoned: Slow down, you're advancing too rapidly. You're not weak anymore, I promise. Just please, don't hurt me. This would probably be Ichigo's skill in Zanjutsu. I mean he's strong and all, but he isn't too knowledgeable in the art of the sword. But he does, in fact, know his stuff.
Veteran: You're greater than what most will ever achieve and your skills are ones that will be rivaled. You're, to say the least, amazing.
Expert: You've taken on quite an amazing title, being an Expert and all. You're actually really scary and you just don't know your own potential. Or maybe you do. If you do, then I'll be sure not to make you mad.
Master: Get away from me. You're going to kill me and I know you are. I don't want you anywhere near me because you'll probably rip my face off and eat it like I was a petty inconvenience in your path to glory.
Grandmaster: You're the absolute greatest there ever was. None rival you and you know that. You'll happily rip the faces off of anybody who comes near you. You'll tear them apart and make fools of them as though they were nothing. You're, simply put, a monster.
Generally, characters of Tier 0 will be given the Skill Rank: Expert. Generally characters of Tier 1 will be given the Skill Rank: Seasoned. Generally, characters of Tier 2 will be given Skill Rank: Advanced. Generally, characters of Tier 3 will be given Skill Rank: Intermediate. Generally, characters of Tier 4 will be given Skill Rank: Below Average.
Upon approval, you will be given a Character Tier as well as a Reiatsu Tier. Additionally, you will be given a specific Skill Level in which all your Tiers (Attribute and Skill) will be set to that. You can, if you'd like, leave them as they are and be a completely balanced character or you can remove a skill rank to gain a skill rank. That is saying, if you are given Tier 2-B and the Skill Rank Advanced, you have Advanced as all your Attribute's and as all of your Skill levels. If you'd like, you can lower an Advanced to Intermediate to get an Advanced to Seasoned. You can do this as many times as you'd like. Let two things be noted: one, you cannot lower a single Attribute or Skill more than twice. Two, you cannot lower an Attribute Level to increase a Skill Level. You can only decrease an Attribute to increase an Attribute and decrease a Skill to increase a Skill. Attribute Tiers Here you have the core of your character. That is to say, your character's Attributes. Your character's attributes are as follows: - Attributes:
Strength: This attribute dictates how physically powerful your character is by themselves. How hard they punch and how ferocious a swipe of their blade is. Defense: This attribute dictates how much of a beating your character can take. The higher this attribute, the longer you can survive in combat before perishing. Speed: This attribute dictates how fast your character moves, including the speed of their attacks, including the speed of spiritual attacks. Additionally, the faster a character, the quicker their reaction time as well as their perception of time. Spirit: This attribute dictates the strength of their spiritual attacks such as Cero and Kido. The stronger this attribute, the stronger your Cero and Kido are, along with various different Zanpakuto techniques.
Universal Skill Tiers These are what define your character in terms of their literal capabilities. Whereas the Strength Attribute would determine how strong your character is physically, the following dictate your skill level. That is, your characters proficiency in specific combat arts. The list of general, race-independent skills is as follows: - Skills:
Zanjutsu: Or perhaps more generally, the Weaponry skill, this is the skill that dictates how proficient you are with wielding your weapon itself. The higher your skill level in this skill and the higher level techniques you'll be allowed to use in respect to this skill. Hakuda: Also known as hand-to-hand combat, this skill dictates your proficiency in fighting completely unarmed. This does not mean, specifically, fighting with your hands. This includes fighting with your entire body. The higher the skill, the more potent you are in your fighting and techniques. Hoho: This actually goes by many different names: Shunpo, Sonĺdo, Hirenkyaku and Bringers Light. This skill dictates your proficiency with your race's high speed movement. The higher the skill, the faster you can go and the more complex your techniques can be.
In the End Thank you for sticking through and reading all that there is above. This is the official conclusion of all that the Tier System is in its most general sense. If you'd like to know more, which I really advise you should, please continue onwards to the Advanced Tier System section of this forum for further details on what this does to both your character and the game you play in. | |
